SCRIPTURE:
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre.
MESSAGE.
Being a servant of God is well defined in the scripture with all the needable quality and qualification of the individual aligned with the right characteristic of the personality for an enablement in the office.
You are called, yes there is no two ways to it, you are ordained before the world was by God and set to use your life to achieved as an aligned purpose among humanity, this does not really means you are a Pastor whenever you hear calling.
There is no profession that is not attached under the word ”calling”, getting this right and act according to the will of God in your life that your purpose is very important and naturally the reward of your calling proportional to the obedient and order of God will resulted in a household testimony in your life.
It is wrong to be wearing a robe of a priest when you are not call into the office, the quality of the office will naturally fight the integrity in your life, the attached spiritual potential will also not reflecting in your life.
There is one of my great scriptural and spiritual mentor outlined spiritual verse in the bible to Timothy that I am critically looking at it with the help of Holy Spirit for a better explanation of it and directly from his person, ”this is a true saying, “If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work”, this incredible piece was pen down by Apostle Paul to Timothy and all in the body of Christ for some clarification and ascertain manifestation of God in the office of the priest.
I, as a mentee of the great Apostle Paul still looking at the word “Desire” with the bracket sentence to the the tagged “Call”, they both have different meaning.
I met with a man who said he is a pastor but have three wives which is totally contradictory to the qualification of a Pastor or priest in the scripture, he has eleven children, and daily giving this women in his house 500 daily to care for themselves, he initiated the conversation when he heard some people called me ”Pastor” while he was taking me on his bike.
He said another thing that intrigued me again that, the church members are not encouraging that they don’t encourage him in paying offering, that sometime, the whole offering is 500 naira, for he would have pray seriously for them and still they give such offering.
I asked him, are you really a Pastor that is called by God or desire the office because with the look of things you are in a wrong place function with unacceptable qualification likewise, you are the same person with three wives, this is totally contradictory to the letter Apostle Paul wrote to TImothy that the priest are using to admonish the church today.
You are wrong by condemning the offering of saints because it is offering and you don’t keep anything with them, it is voluntary and this can be any amount, how much is your own money from this five hundred (500) naira you are complaining it is too small that they are not encouraging you.
The conversation take a very long time and we arrive at a point that he should stop calling himself a Pastor because he is not one, he confessed to this that he is trying meeting his need by going into the office of a priest and I immediately interjected him that that is not the best way and he is not in his place to meet his family need and there are several thing he is doing wrong in his life now, that need urgent attention and correction.
If you are not called by God to be in the office of a priest, stop calling yourself one and leave the office now to avoid unwanted and unwarranted pain in the like of this man I meet.
